I suppose I should be relieved that the holiday season is now officially over. It does mean a lot less work for me…no special school projects to plan, no special meals to prepare, no gifts to wrap, no extra places to be. It’s finally time to catch my breath, slow down, and get back to business as usual.

Instead of relief, though, I find that I’m disappointed. Even with all of the extra work the holidays bring, and the feeling that I may never get everything done, I love every moment of it. I love the sparkle and anticipation, the giving and the doing, the planning and preparing and excitement of it all.

I know that I’ll enjoy the extra time I’ll be reclaiming, but a big part of me is always sad to see Christmas come to an end!
