The Jewel Box

Prior to last month, I had never really seen the Jewel Box in Forest Park other than in passing. This didn’t seem right, so I decided it was finally time to really visit it.

The outside is gorgeous. The building itself is cool, and the flowers (especially during tulip time) around it are beautiful.

I was a little underwhelmed with the inside, however. Maybe it’s because I’ve grown accustomed to the grandeur of the Botanical Garden, but there just wasn’t much to see. The fountains were pretty cool, though.

Admission is only a dollar, although I honestly don’t feel like it was worth it to pay for all the children to go in. Monday and Tuesday mornings have free admission from nine to noon, though, so it’s worth stopping by then, just to say you’ve seen it!
