It’s All About the Numbers

11 in ’11!

That’s been a rally cry around here this fall. The Cards, going for their 11th World Series title in 2011.

They had to (improbably) win 11 games in the playoffs to do it. And the truly decisive, memorable moment of this Fall Classic came in the 11th inning of game six, in which David Freese hit a walk-off home run to secure a Cardinals victory, following last-strike rallies in the ninth and tenth innings. A real 11th hour victory, if you will.

Sports is all about the numbers, and while you can generally make numbers say anything you want, 11 seems to be a good number for St. Louis!
