2015-16 School Year–THE END!

I’m not going to lie…the 2015-16 school year did not end on a high note.

We had some great field trips last weekend, visiting museums and appreciating different styles of architecture in Chicago. And once we were back home, we quickly wrapped up history and science, leaving only math and The Trojan War (as well as the last chapter of Mr. Pipes and the Accidental Voyage), to be completed today.

While Ladybug did a great job on hers, Turkey and Bunny’s final math exam did not go well, however. I’m honestly not even sure what happened, because when we went through it so they could correct their mistakes, they did so with little to no difficulty. Still their grades was a poor reflection on their teacher, and I was not happy with myself. I was seriously feeling like perhaps I had not successfully taught them anything in pre-algebra all year. I even made them take an Algebra I placement test, to see if they’re even ready to move on next year, and they both passed easily.

So, I don’t know. I was feeling very discouraged earlier, and thinking I should probably enroll them in the public school before I do any more damage. But they did demonstrate to me that they are both capable, so I’m not sure where to go from here. I guess only time will tell, but I do know that I’m looking forward to a much-needed break!
