Hard at work on handwriting!

Teaching a first grader and high schoolers at the same time is interesting, and something very new to our homeschool. Here’s an example of the zaniness you can expect in this situation. Earlier this week, I was quizzing Turkey on the Periodic Table of Elements. I got to “What does ‘F’ stand for?” and there was a momentary silence in the room as he mulled it over. Out of nowhere, Chickadee piped up, “Fluorine!” Now, I know she listens to her siblings’ lessons sometimes, but I was really not expecting her to remember something as unusual as Fluorine, and provide the answer at the correct time! I’m really interested to see how her education continues to unfold, because I think she’s retaining a lot more than I had anticipated!
