Chickadee Thursday

Ready for Holy Thursday worship…we’re still worshipping in the basement of our church home away from home while they work on renovating their sanctuary, but Chickadee doesn’t mind!

Chickadee Thursday

Chickadee had fun visiting the National Blues Museum in St. Louis for the first time today!

After touring the museum, we walked around downtown St. Louis for a bit, and in addition to looking longingly through the gates of Busch Stadium, where the Cardinals were playing the Dodgers (the Cards won), we stopped at Kiener Plaza, where Chickadee had some fun on the playground:

It was a nice way to spend a spring day in the city!

Chickadee Thursday

Today’s “Chickadee Thursday” pictures are actually “Chickadee Wednesday” photos, and with good reason…we made our yearly visit to Rural King yesterday, and while we didn’t find bunnies for sale, we did discover that in the last year, the store has a acquired a mascot…Tate the Rabbit!

Did you know that you can put a leash on a rabbit and walk him around the store? I didn’t, but apparently, Tate enjoys it, and so we spent some time there, taking him for a…hop?

Chickadee loved how big he was, and how soft (and pink!) his ears were. He’s a good and patient rabbit for sure!

I really have to commend the gentleman who works at our local Rural King. For at least the last three or four years, he has been super kind and accommodating…he always takes time to talk to us about their animals (usually chicks and ducks in addition to bunnies), and finds time to let the children interact with the rabbits…he’s a true treasure!

Seven!

This was the very rare year where Turkey’s and Chickadee’s birthdays fall in the same calendar week. Today was Chickadee’s turn…she is now seven!

We started the day early with present opening and cinnamon rolls. Chickadee was very excited not only to receive a new stuffed elephant, but also her first American Girl doll, and some clothes and accessories to go with her:

We spent the morning at the St. Louis Zoo, where we saw quite a few animals, including Chickadee’s favorite…the elephants:

We spent the afternoon watching Sailor Moon. After a dinner of Pizza Hut, we continued the day’s theme with an elephant-shaped birthday cake:

It’s hard for me to believe that my youngest child is seven. The years since Chickadee’s birth have gone by especially quickly, and I’m constantly surprised to realize what a big girl she is now!
