We love an air show around here, which is especially good this weekend, as the local Air Force Base is hosting a big air show this weekend. One of the headliners for the opening of the show this morning was a B-2 Bomber fly-by. I didn’t want to deal with the base traffic just to see the B-2, but I knew that we’d be able to see it (albeit at a distance) from the Walmart parking lot.

We weren’t disappointed. Although it was pretty far away, we were able to watch it loop around several times. And no matter how far away it is, a B-2 Bomber is always an impressive sight!

I don’t know why, but every time I’ve seen one of these planes (all both of them), I’m completely awestruck.

Is it because it doesn’t look like a typical plane? Or because I know of the power behind it? Maybe because it’s (relatively) quiet? Who knows.

One thing’s for sure–I get chills every time I see one!
