I’m always on the lookout for cool vintage or retro signs, even (maybe especially), when we’re traveling. This sign at Zimmerman Ford in St. Charles, IL, is exactly what I’m always look for..it’s big and bold, and has cool mid-century shapes. It took a bit of work to figure out how to get to this sign from where I was at the time, but I’m glad I did, because it’s perfect!

This is one of my favorite signs…cool shape, fun colors, and real retro feel!
I’m not a fan of Imo’s Pizza, but I do love the sign at their location on Hampton Avenue near Forest Park!
I don’t know what it is about bowling alleys, but many of them have very cool, vintage-looking signs!
Another thing I really wanted to see when we were in Wheaton was the sign at Seven Dwarfs restaurant. I love a good retro sign, and this one definitely fits the bill!
So happy to see that this hasn’t changed…it was just like I remembered it!
The McDonald’s on West Main in Belleville has an awesome vintage sign…you seriously feel like you’re stepping back into the 1950s whenever you drive by!
Another cool, vintage sign from another motel I would never actually stay at. Why is it that so many hotels that look seedy and creepy have really cool-looking signs?
Also found on Watson Road is this cool Rothman Furniture sign. It has a very vintage look, but it’s found outside a still-operational store…the best of both worlds!
