Sartorial Saturday–The Tweed Blazer Dress

Time to take a look at the Miss Candyfloss dress I almost let get away!

The Onike-Abalone blazer dress from the Vintage GlamIcons collection was initially on my wish list, but I removed it because I wasn’t sure I needed such a warm piece in my wardrobe. The day it was released, however, I realized that I really, really liked it, so I ordered it, and I’m glad I did, because they sold through almost all of the stock very quickly! It’s an absolutely beautiful dress with a lined tweed jacket in beautiful colors including an elegant silver thread, plus a lovely soft grey skirt.

I accessorized with a black beret and gloves, my newest Erstwilder brooch that manages to be both whimsical and elegant at the same time, and a pair of festive Splendette Duchess Bangles:

Here’s a closer look at the brooch as well as the stunning double collar on the dress…Miss Candyfloss does the little details so well!

The blazer in particular is quite warm, so it will be a nice winter dress when the temperatures drop!

This dress is the very picture of vintage glamour!

This will probably be my last purchase from the Vintage GlamIcons collection…now it’s time to start saving my money for spring!

Sartorial Saturday–Parisian Dreams

Today I’m taking a look at accessories inspired by my dreams of visiting Paris!

Would you believe I’ve had this beret in my wardrobe for years, but only recently started wearing it (one of my daughters wore it way before I ever did!). I love the idea of a beret, but I could never figure out how to wear one correctly. I don’t know exactly what changed, but I’ve discovered that I can actually put this one on in a way that looks right now! I borrowed Chickadee’s Eiffel Tower brooch from Erstwilder to complete my Parisian look (I liked it so much, I may order one of my own!)…maybe someday, I’ll actually see the City of Light for myself!

Sartorial Saturday…On a Sunday–Festive Fashion in the Deep Freeze

Merry Christmas!

Time for a look at this year’s festive fashion, heavily influenced by the Arctic weather we’ve been having. The chill made warm clothing a must on Christmas Eve, so I added a cape and beret (and red tights), to my usual Christmas dress. I also added a Christmas Splendette stack, my favorite sparkly Christmas brooch, and equally sparkly silver shoes.

Even at home, I had to dress with the cold in mind, so I threw a cardigan on over my Miss Candyfloss dressing gown:

The faux fur collar on my cape is removable, so I changed up its look on Christmas Day. This time I wore a Rare Dirndl and my new Christmas apron, plus a flower crown that arrived just in time for Christmas. I accessorized with edelweiss, a brand-new Homes bracelet, and some Erstwilder brooches:

I kind of enjoyed having truly cold weather for Christmas, especially since it allowed me to dress a little differently this year!
