The Tudor Corner

It’s been almost five years since I last built a Lego modular building, but this year’s Tudor Corner is so beautiful, it brought me out of retirement! As soon as I saw the photos of it, I knew it was going to be a day one purchase (the free-with-purchase Corner Kiosk didn’t hurt, either!). They’ve changed the instruction books a bit since the last set I built…instead of multiple books, there was just one big book. I like this new method, because it takes off some of the pressure of feeling like you have to complete an entire volume in one sitting. Instead, Ryan and I built a bag (or two or three) at a time over the course of several days until it was complete.

Here’s a look at the details on the first floor, which is home to a “restaurant” (I don’t care what Lego says, it’s clearly a pub!) and a haberdashery:

The second floor is a very detailed clockmaker’s workshop…I am truly impressed with how many different ways Lego found to build clocks!

And the attic is home to an apartment:

I love the half-timbered structure on the upper portion of the building, as well as the steep red roofs:

And there’s even a chimney sweep to go with the chimney stacks!

The outside details and minifigs offer a great embellishment to the set!

Something I really loved in the instruction book were the little notes about the building throughout. They tied this building together with other modulars in a rather story-like fashion, and now I wish Lego would write a whole book that details the street!

Here’s a look at the Corner Kiosk…I think it’s one of the nicer free-with-purchases that goes with the modular city:

The completed set is gorgeous!!!

We do actually have a few other modulars to build, so while I have already added this beauty to Main Street, I won’t know if it’s in its final location until I can see them all together…stay tuned!
