Sartorial Saturday–A Winter Blazer and Spring Dress

Time for another winter to spring look!

The Estee-Spring dress from last year’s Miss Candyfloss Lilibeth collection is one of my favorites, and I’ve been looking for ways to work it back into my wardrobe as spring approaches. As I was looking at the options in my closet, I realized that the darker blue stripe on the dress is almost a perfect match to the lovely blue of the Minerva-Lee blazer from last season’s Exquisite collection!

I accessorized with a moon and cloud brooch from the Erstwilder/Care Bears collaboration, and a pastel stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles:

I love the colors of this outfit!

I still can’t believe how outstanding the peplum on the blazer is!

This is great way to fill in the gaps in the transitional times of year as far as the weather goes, but I’m looking forward to going full spring soon!

Sartorial Saturday–Bear and Belly Badge

Earlier this year, Erstwilder released the third and final collection of their Care Bears collaboration. While I certainly didn’t need any more pieces, I really liked that this collection included several bears, as well as coordinating mini brooches of each’s “Belly Badge.” I missed out on the pair I liked best (Share Bear and a matching shake, with two straws, of course!), but I was able to order Sweet Dreams Bear and The Sweetest Dreams mini brooch. I love wearing them together…aren’t they the cutest?!?

I’m kind of sad that this was the end of the Care Bears collaboration, but as always, I’m looking forward to whatever Erstwilder comes up with next!

A Care Bears Collection

I thought it would be fun to take a look at the combined Erstwilder Care Bears collection that we have in our house!

The majority of the collection is mine, but each of my daughters has at least one item of her own. We have brooches, earrings, a pair of cardigan clips, and even two scarves. I was also lucky enough to pick up the two free-gift-with-purchase brooches, one from each collection Erstwilder has released. I’m curious to see if they will have another collection in the future, but the most recent one contained the two items I wanted the most (the Cloudmobile and Grams Bear), so I don’t even know what I’d be looking for if they did!

Sartorial Saturday–Flashback Fashion

Most of wardrobe is retro fashion, focusing on the 1940s-60s, but occasionally, I like to flashback to a different time…the 90s!

I loved the overalls of the 90s. Other styles of this fashion have come and gone since, but they were never cut quite the same. But when I saw these overalls from Old Navy, as part of their new Bod Equality campaign, I knew that they were just what I was looking for. And to really emphasize the throwback theme, I added some Care Bears brooches from Erstwilder, and a stack of HOMES bracelets with a center stone from one of my favorite childhood locations, Lake Michigan:

This is what confidence looks like. Despite the fact that some people would say that plus-sized women shouldn’t wear overalls, and others would say that if you’re old enough to have worn a trend the last time it was popular you shouldn’t wear it again, I’m still wearing them, simply because I like them and feel great in them! I’m really thankful that I’ve a reached a place in my life where I can dress with this kind of confidence!

Sartorial Saturday–Caring is Cool

Erstwilder recently released what I’m pretty sure is their cutest collection ever…a Care Bears collaboration!

I was super excited about this one, both for myself, and because I couldn’t wait to share it with my girls. I ended up ordering four brooches…two for me (Grumpy Bear and Cozy Heart Penguin), one for Bunny (Swift Heart Rabbit…shocking, right?), and one for Chickadee (Lotsa Heart Elephant).

I also bought the Sweet Dreams earrings for Ladybug:

And because I was able to get my order in speedy fast, I also received the gift-with-purchase brooch, which just happened to be Care-a-Lot Castle:

I also got a neck scarf, which is so adorable it hurts a little!

I really love this fun collection, and it has me hoping that someday Erstwilder might make another one, and include the Care Bears cloud car!
