Here’s another space between buildings on Main Street in St. Charles, MO. It is almost identical to an alley I photographed at Christmastime, but with the picket fence-like gate closed and a different terminating view…the tree in the distance gives it a very different look!

For this edition of “The Space Between” I’m taking a look in between two buildings on Main Street in Belleville, IL. What I really like about this in-between space is the brick path between the buildings…it looks like it has some interesting stories to tell!
Time for another installment in my “Space Between” series. This time, I’m looking at a cool alleyway on Main Street in historic St. Charles, MO. I love the bricks and timbers, and the view through towards the Missouri River!
I decided to make “The Space Between” a regular feature here on my website. There are so many great alleyways and other in-between places to discover, and I’d like to highlight as many of them as I can. Today I’m looking at a spot on Main Street in Belleville that is not only visually interesting, but would also make a great home to an installation like the Umbrella Sky Project!
I really like looking at the spaces between buildings like this alley between houses in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis.
