Sartorial Saturday–Casual Stripes

It may be technically fall, but we’re still having summer weather, so today I’m taking a look at a casual, striped top from this year’s spring/summer collection from Miss Candyfloss.

The Kacey-Wisteria is a lovely, stretchy top with just a hint of off-the-shoulder playfulness in a soft shade of lavender. I paired it here with the Idalia-Lee skort from last year, but it goes well with so many other things in my wardrobe, from skirts to jeans!

I kept my accessories fairly simply, with a RockLove Jewelry water lily necklace, an Erstwilder brooch, and a stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles:

I loved the Juliette-Rose dress so much that I knew I needed to add this top to my wardrobe…they’re very similar!

The back neckline of the shirt mirrors the front:

I love the nautical vibe of this look!

I’m looking forward to wearing this top under jackets once it cools off, too!

Sartorial Saturday–Pirouette

Today I’m taking a look at my second skort from Popflex!

I’ve loved the twirly, ballerina-esque Pirouette skort from Popflex since I first saw it, but I knew that the style was too short for me to be comfortable in. You can imagine how excited I was, then, when they announced that they were going to offer it in a new longer length!

Of course I added a few accessories to complete my look, including a RockLove Jewelry necklace and a stack of bracelets:

I paired it with a Not Your Typical Tank from Popflex, which is the best tank top ever!

I love that this look adds a bit of elegance even when I’m being active!

I’m looking forward to styling this skort for cooler days soon, too!

Sartorial Saturday–A Fashion Flex

Today I’m taking a look at something a little different…athletic wear by Popflex!

I’m a plus-size woman (obviously), but I still enjoy being active. One of our favorite ways to get some exercise in school is by playing tennis, and a Popflex Crisscross Hourglass Twirl Skort and Not Your Typical Tank with a built-in bra are the perfect pieces on the court!

I added a Popflex Bardot headband to keep my hair out of my eyes…it’s a great style that can be worn two ways, and has silicone grippers on the inside to help keep it in place:

I chose to go all-purple with this outfit, but in three different shades…I like the variation!

I love the keyhole back on the tank!

Playing tennis is even more fun in a cute outfit!

I feel completely comfortable in this outfit, and have full range of motion for moving around!

I already had a few other Popflex pieces in my wardrobe, so I already knew the quality and fit were great, but these are my first really colorful items, and I love how bright and cheerful they are for warmer days!

Sartorial Saturday–A Blouse in Colorful Plaid

You’ve already seen my trumpet skirt from the Miss Candyfloss “Vintage GlamIcons” collection; now it’s time to take a look at the blouse I got to match (no, I haven’t worn them together yet!).

The Melinga-Kat blouse has bishop sleeves, wide cuffs, a rounded hemline, and the most colorful plaid pattern you can imagine for fall! I love the bold shades of teal and yellow, with pops of red and purple interspersed…it’s a bright and unexpected color palette for autumn!

I accessorized with a stack of glittery Splendette Duchess Bangles and an Erstwilder brooch, plus a hat in navy blue.

I decided to walk the line between seasons by pairing this blouse from the autumn/winter collection with a skort from the previous spring/summer collection, and I think it’s the perfect combination for a transitional time of year!

There’s nothing like a bright outfit to raise your spirits on a cloudy day!

I’m looking forward to wearing this blouse with my trumpet skirt next!

Sartorial Saturday–A Tartan Blouse

Time for a look at one last piece from the Miss Candyfloss “Viva Rita” collection! I don’t have a lot of tops, so I decided to add the Efrona-Lee tartan bishop-sleeve blouse to my wardrobe. It has the same button front and bustline that I love in so many of my Miss Candyfloss dresses and jumpsuits, and is beautiful in blue, white, and grey.

For my first wearing, I paired it with the Idalia-Lee skort, also from the “Viva Rita” collection. I’m looking forward to wearing it with the Donna-Sable palazzo pants, too!

I accessorized in blues and greys as well. I borrowed brooches from two of my daughters, both from the Erstwilder Paris Holiday collection. I also added a stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles, plus my Elizabeth Claire Taylor hoop earrings, light grey gloves, and my favorite tan hat.

This is a great blouse for the warmer months, and will transition well into fall, too!

Even thought it doesn’t have short sleeves, it’s still a pretty breezy top for summer!

I’m already looking forward to seeing what surprises the autumn/winter collection has in store!

Sartorial Saturday–My First Miss Candyfloss Skort

I have been wanting to get a Miss Candyfloss skort (part skirt, part shorts, if you’re unfamiliar with the term) for a while now, but the Idalia-Lee, my favorite from this year’s “Viva Rita” collection, sold out super fast in multiple sizes. When I saw that it was back in stock in a size smaller than I usually wear, I decided to take a chance since the size chart for this particular item is pretty generous. It ended up being a good decision, because my regular size would have been way too big on me! It’s a beautiful shade of navy blue that will go with just about anything, but in some lights, you get some hints of purple, too! From the front, it basically looks like a skirt:

From the back, however, you see the built-in shorts!

I chose some mint accessories, to pick up the color in the Cleona-Floria blouse, including my fascinator and stack of Splendette Duchess bangles. I also added an Erstwilder brooch in a very neutral gold:

This skort is very comfortable to wear and light and breezy…perfect for the warmer months!

I’m really glad I could add this summer staple to my wardrobe…now I just need to find more blouses to wear with it!
