Sartorial Saturday–Summer Dreams

We’ve had some of the coldest temperatures of the season this week, but I’m dreaming about summer!

The Luzana-Rose playsuit from Miss Candyfloss almost didn’t make it to my wardrobe. Last summer, I ordered it from one of their stockists, because I missed purchasing it directly from Miss Candyfloss. Well, it took months to arrive, and was damaged beyond repair when it finally got to me, so I accepted my refund thought that was that. But the stockist had one left in inventory in my size, and when it went on sale even more after Christmas, I decided to take another chance. Fortunately, this one got to me without incident, and I’m so excited to have it to wear on our big vacation this summer! (I’m planning on making my mid-century modern dreams come true by wearing it when we tour Kennedy Space Center!)

I thought blue accessories would be fun, so I went with my Meteor Jewelry Co. Starlite necklace and bracelet set and the perfect Erstwilder brooch.

I think this is such a fun look!

I’m really glad I took a second chance on this playsuit, and the thought of wearing it on our vacation will keep me warm all winter!

Sartorial Saturday–The Sunsuit

Time to step outside of my comfort zone!

I don’t often wear shorts. I did buy a romper from Unique Vintage last summer, but I pretty much wear it exclusively with the matching skirt, so it barely counts. But when I saw this beautiful Hiva-Blush sunsuit from Miss Candyfloss, and especially the gorgeous plaid of the shorts, I knew I had to give it a try.

I picked some of my most cheerful accessories to coordinate with the outfit, including a Splendette duchess bangles stack and glitter necklace in colors to go with the aforementioned plaid, and my Spiffy the Sausage Dog brooch from Erstwilder:

I also threw on a Yemak cropped cardigan, because even at this time of year, there can be cool days:

But not a lot of them (unfortunately for me!):

I really love this outfit. The fact that sunsuit is comprised of flowy walking shorts definitely helps me feel more comfortable in it (Chickadee even thought it was a skirt at first), and I think I’ll be living in this look this summer!
