Sartorial Saturday–Everything’s Coming Up Daisy

Did you know Daisy Duck is celebrating her 85th birthday this year? She is my absolute favorite Disney character, so I was super excited when the Disney Store online debuted this adorable dress inspired by my sassy gal!

It features puff sleeves and a full skirt with a built in crinoline, plus an embroidered faux collar and button. The pink and purple color palette is perfect for Daisy, and the bottom half of the skirt is covered with the flowers she is named for and also includes her unmistakable signature.

I accessorized with a pair of purple, daisy-covered 85th anniversary ears by BaubleBar from the Disney Store, an Erstwilder brooch, a stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles, and a RockLove Jewelry Daisy Duck necklace.

I also have a sparkly, fuzzy, Daisy Duck Loungefly mini backpack…I’ve wished for something like this for a while, and this is exactly what I had in mind!

I attaached a signature bag charm from BaubleBar, too:

This is the perfect look to celebrate my favorite duck!

Mani Monday

This week’s mani is inspired by my very favorite duck…Disney’s Daisy! I used the purple Nailtopia “Daisy Duck” polish with accent nails of Holo Taco “Blush Money” and “Be Kind Rewind” plus a layer of “Silver Flake Taco” over one nail. It looks great with my Baublebar bag charm!

Sartorial Saturday–A Subtle Tribute to My Favorite Ducks

Tomorrow is Donald Duck’s 90th birthday, and I have just the dress for it!

This sundress is from Her Universe, and with its tiered skirt it’s lovely and flowy for summer, plus it has the cutest print which features Donald’s sailor hat and Daisy’s bow…I love that it references them in a subtle way!

I chose primarily blue and pink accessories to go with the Donald and Daisy theme, including my stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles and Meteor Jewelry Co. Starlite necklace, but I also borrowed a floral Erstwilder brooch in yellow from my youngest daughter to go with the flowers on the dress:

Speaking of accessories, Baublebar released two special bag charms just in time for Donald’s birthday…one of the birthday boy with a balloon and party hat (which I actually didn’t buy), and one of Daisy, complete with sparkly shoes and a cake she baked just for him!

The ties on the shoulders give it an extra summery feel:

And I love how soft the material of the dress is!

Other than the back of the bodice, which is smocked, the dress is fully lined, so you don’t have to worry about the light color being too sheer:

I don’t have a lot of fashion featuring my favorite Disney ducks, so I’m really excited I was able to add this cute dress to my wardrobe!

Mani Monday

This week’s mani is inspired by the Cardinals home opener last Thursday. I used Holo Taco “Sacrificial Lacquer” (which is practically Cardinal red!) and “Circuit Breaker” as the main colors, with “Red Flake Taco” as a topper on two nails for a little extra glitter. And my Baublebar Fredbird bag charm is the perfect accessory to show them off!

Sartorial Saturday–Accessories for Opening Day

This week was the St. Louis Cardinals home opener, and I had the perfect new accessories for it…and one of them I’ve been wishing for for a very long time!

Loungefly finally added a Cardinals mini backpack to their MLB collection, and I was especially happy to purchase it a local store, First Capitol Trading, Inc. in St. Charles, MO. I know that some fans weren’t impressed with the floral pattern on the bag, but I actually love it…I think it’s really unique and pretty, and adds some great pops of color!

And to make it even better, Baublebar released a Fredbird bag charm, which I was only too happy to add to the bag! He has just the right amount of sparkle on his head feathers and shoes!

They make the perfect pair, and it’s such a fun way to show my team spirit! The only problem is, ironically enough, I wouldn’t be able to carry the bag into Busch Stadium if I went to a game, because it’s too big!

Mani Monday

This week’s Mani Monday was inspired by the inimitable Daisy Duck. I used the Nailtopia Daisy Duck purple as the base, and layered Holo Taco Starry-Eyed over it. I put the glitter layer on a little thicker than I intended to, but you can still see the purple shining through, so we’ll call it good!

Sartorial Saturday–A Collection of Daisy Duck Bag Charms

I think by now, my love of Daisy Duck is pretty clear. So last year, when Baublebar finally added Daisy Duck to their bag charm collection with a lovely summer version of her in a swimming suit, I was ecstatic. And when they added a Halloween edition of Princess Daisy complete with hennin and wand, I started think maybe they were planning to make Daisy a staple in their collection. Since then, they’ve also created a Christmas bag charm and a extra sparkly Daisy in her typical uniform of pink bow, purple top, blue bracelet, and pink shoes.

At some point, I decided to make it my goal to purchase every Daisy Duck bag charm they offer (thank you occasional sales and coupons!). I’m still hoping for a winter (maybe ice skating to go with the Minnie they’re currently selling?) variant, but it’s probably too late for that this season. I do know that I’m looking forward to whatever they create next! I’m glad to see my pal Daisy finally getting the attention she deserves…it is all about her, after all!

Sartorial Saturday…on a Friday–A Match Made in Accessories Heaven

It’s the day after Thanksgiving, which means it’s now socially acceptable to get my Christmas apparel and accessories out of my wardrobe! To kick things off, let’s take a look at a new accessory I added to my collection this year…a Daisy Duck “Deck the Halls” bag charm from Baublebar!

I love Daisy in her sparkly Christmas sweater all tangled up in colorful Christmas lights, and I love how well she goes with my equally sparkly red and green sequin Loungefly “‘Tis the Season” Christmas mini backpack I got last year. It’s a glittery match made in accessories heaven!

Mani Monday

Last week, I shared a Daisy Duck-inspired mani (she is my absolute favorite!), but I’d be remiss if I didn’t also share one inspired by the most fashionable of mice, the queen of Disney, Minnie Mouse herself! I alternated Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in “Black to Black” with Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in “Can’t Beet Royalty” and added Minnie’s iconic polka dots with Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in “Get Mod.”

Sartorial Saturday–A Charming Addition

Sometimes, your accessories need an accessory, right?

I have been obsessed with getting a Baublebar bag charm for months. The Mickey Mouse ones were cute, and I was tempted, but I resisted. And then they added a whole collection of different Minnies, and I almost cracked, because they’re all so adorable. But I waited, and I’m glad I did, because Baublebar has been having a Friends and Family event, and my patience was rewarded with 25% off!

Like I said, there are lots of cute Minnie options right now…close to a dozen, I think, including picnic, ballerina, and my second-favorite, black tie. But in the end, I went with the classic design…it’s so sparkly, it’s iconic, and to be honest, it’s also a little cheaper. But mostly it’s iconic…who can resist Minnie Mouse in all her polka-dotted glory? Now if they’d just add Daisy Duck, I could have a pair of the cutest bag charms ever!
