I have now shared a total of 52 “Mani Mondays”…a whole year’s worth! It has taken me more than one calendar year to complete this project, partly because I didn’t realize when I started that I was going to turn it into something this big and my nail painting was kind of sporadic, and partly because I just can’t always find time to do my nails every single week. I really love how it is a snapshot of a year in our family’s life…you can see the holidays we celebrated (Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter), the change of seasons (winter, summer, fall), special events we looked forward to (the Coronation, Combo Breaker), family heritage (flags), special family interests (Disney, Ahsoka), and even school spirit (college and high school colors).
First, here’s a look at my very favorite manicure I’ve done so far…I love the color blending and the added sparkle of the glitter!
And then all of the rest, in the order they were published. Sally Hansen Miracle Gel and Holo Taco were by far my two most-used brands, but there are some others mixed in there, too.
I’m by no means done with “Mani Mondays”…I’ve really enjoyed being creative in the colors I used and the techniques I’ve learned, and I already have some ideas for future designs I’m looking forward to attempting!
This week’s mani, which is inspired by outer space, was quite a labor of love, and took forever to dry! I did a stripe of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in “Black to Black” down the center of each nail, and then did a stripe of Holo Taco “Twice in a Blue Moon” and “Queen’s Curse” on either side of it. I added a coat of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel “Girls Flip” over the whole thing for a little extra twinkle…I absolutely love how it turned out!
This week’s Mani Monday is inspired by summer nights and this Erstwilder brooch. I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in “Black to Black” with a topcoat of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel “Girls Flip” on two nails, and Holo Taco “Queen’s Curse” on the rest.
I was inspired by our fairytale-themed summer school (not to mention watching Once Upon a Time!) to come up with an Evil Queen styled mani. I think Holo Taco “Crimson Void” with an accent of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in “Black to Black” is perfect!
This week’s Mani Monday is inspired by the Combo Breaker fighting game tournament event we attended over the weekend (and is modeled with the medal I received in 2022). It features Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in “Black to Black” and Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in “Luck & Glory.”
I can’t think of a more classic pattern than black and white polka dots, and that’s what inspired this week’s “Mani Monday.” I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in “Black to Black” and Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in “Get Mod.”
Last week, I shared a Daisy Duck-inspired mani (she is my absolute favorite!), but I’d be remiss if I didn’t also share one inspired by the most fashionable of mice, the queen of Disney, Minnie Mouse herself! I alternated Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in “Black to Black” with Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in “Can’t Beet Royalty” and added Minnie’s iconic polka dots with Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in “Get Mod.”
