Sartorial Saturday–Disney Bounding Rapunzel

I still haven’t done a lot of Disney Bounds, but I’m especially proud of this one I created for the Disney Princess who has the style I most admire…Rapunzel, and just in time for Halloween, too!

I used my purple dirndl dress from Rare Dirndl as the base of the look, and added a beautiful pink embroidered rosette apron and pink lacing ribbon, and a purple vacation blouse from Vixen by Micheline Pitt.

I accessorized with a flower crown and floral necklace (of course!), and a pair of Splendette glitter bangles in Rapunzel’s signature colors of pink and purple:

And I added a Loungefly crossbody bag themed for Tangled to complete the look:

I love that I was able to find so many floral elements for this Disney Bound!

I might not have Rapunzel’s hair, but I think I captured the spirit of her style!

Sartorial Saturday–Inspired by Daisy Duck

This isn’t the first Disney Bound I’ve done in honor of Daisy Duck, and it’s not even the first featuring this dress and cardigan, but it is my favorite look inspired by her signature style that I’ve come up with!

For this Disney Bound, I buttoned up my purple Yemak cropped cardigan over my white Honesta-May dress from Miss Candyfloss and cinched it with a pink belt. I also added a pink fascinator inspired by Daisy’s usual bow…I think the color palette is spot on!

I don’t have a daisy brooch, but I thought a white hydrangea from Erstwilder would be a good substitute. I also added a pair of Splendette Duchess Bangles in the same color as Daisy’s signature bracelet.

I think I captured Daisy’s look quite well, don’t you?

I tried to emulate her sass and sparkle as much as possible!

I really enjoy Disney Bounding, and it’s fun to try to figure out how the items I already have in my wardrobe can be used for this purpose!

Sartorial Saturday–Disney Bounding the OG Disney Princess

Last year for Halloween, I came up with a Disney Bound inspired by the Evil Queen…this year, I’m following up with a look inspired by the original Disney princess, Snow White!

I paired the yellow Harriet-Naia dress from Miss Candyfloss with a royal blue cropped cardigan from Yemak, and added some red accessories, too:

Here’s a closer look at the accessories, including a red hair flower, a glittery red Splendette Duchess bangle and beads, and an Erstwilder bird brooch, of course…Snow White has to have a birdie nearby!

So as not to forget the Evil Queen, I added a sequined Loungefly bag in her honor:

I feel like I could frolic with Snow White and her woodland friends in this outfit!

“When you smile and you sing,
Everything is in tune and it’s spring.
And life flows along
With a smile and a song.” “With a Smile and a Song” Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Sartorial Saturday–A Subtle Tribute to My Favorite Ducks

Tomorrow is Donald Duck’s 90th birthday, and I have just the dress for it!

This sundress is from Her Universe, and with its tiered skirt it’s lovely and flowy for summer, plus it has the cutest print which features Donald’s sailor hat and Daisy’s bow…I love that it references them in a subtle way!

I chose primarily blue and pink accessories to go with the Donald and Daisy theme, including my stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles and Meteor Jewelry Co. Starlite necklace, but I also borrowed a floral Erstwilder brooch in yellow from my youngest daughter to go with the flowers on the dress:

Speaking of accessories, Baublebar released two special bag charms just in time for Donald’s birthday…one of the birthday boy with a balloon and party hat (which I actually didn’t buy), and one of Daisy, complete with sparkly shoes and a cake she baked just for him!

The ties on the shoulders give it an extra summery feel:

And I love how soft the material of the dress is!

Other than the back of the bodice, which is smocked, the dress is fully lined, so you don’t have to worry about the light color being too sheer:

I don’t have a lot of fashion featuring my favorite Disney ducks, so I’m really excited I was able to add this cute dress to my wardrobe!

Sartorial Saturday–Inspired by Cinderella

Last year (how weird is that?!?), I shared a costume-y dirndl look for Halloween, using my purple dirndl as the base for an “Evil Queen”-inspired outfit…now here’s a look at a dirndl “Disney Bound” that I would (and have) actually wear out and about on a normal day: Cinderella style!

I used my periwinkle Everyday Dirndl as the base for my look, and added the silver apron from my harlequin dirndl to capture the Cinderella vibe:

For accessories, I wore an edelweiss wrap bracelet as a choker, and added a blue ribbon with a sparkly hair clip to my hair, and sparkly silver (but not glass!) shoes. For a little extra bling, I also added my charivari chain.

Just for fun, I also created a “before transformation” look for Cinderella using a dirndl, too…I’d wear this one just about anywhere as well! The apron is the same, but I wore it with my herbology dirndl, a less fancy blouse, and added a bandana to my hair:

It’s really fun to combine my love of Disney with my love of my heritage!

Sartorial Saturday…On a Tuesday–Halloween Inspiration from a Dirndl

I thought it would be fun to build a Halloween look around a dirndl, so I decided to use my purple dirndl to create an Evil Queen costume!

I left off the apron since I don’t have a solid purple one to match the dress. I added a red ribbon lacing to echo the red belt on the Evil Queen’s dress. I also wore a black cape, which I secured with (what else) a mirror brooch from Erstwilder. And the Evil Queen wouldn’t be complete without a poison apple…luckily, we just happen to have a Lego poison apple in the school room!

I thought this was a really fun way to style a dirndl! Next year, maybe I’ll use this dirndl to dress as Jack, the Czar of Halloween!

Sartorial Saturday–A Disney 100 Daisy Duck Disney Bound

I’ve already shared one whimsical styling of the Miss Candyfloss Honesta-May dress…now it’s time for another! Today I’m taking a look at a Disney Bound inspired by Daisy Duck’s “Disney 100” outfit, and I’m including the Disney 100 ears I bought for our trip to Disneyland!

Her outfit is purple and silver…I went with purple and white (with a hint of silver here and there):

Here’s a closer look at the ears…I view them as a companion piece to the Disney World 50th anniversary ears I purchased last year:

I added some glittery Splendette Duchess bangles in Daisy’s Disney 100 colors:

I think the purple petticoat is the perfect, sassy addition!

Do you think Daisy would approve?

This was a fun look to put together…stay tuned for a more standard styling of this dress for everyday!

Sartorial Saturday–Coronation Ready

It’s Coronation Day!

I guess my invitation was lost in the mail (ha, ha, ha), but that didn’t stop me from planning a very special outfit for the occasion…I even added my wedding tiara to complete the look that features the Miss Candyfloss Sacnite-Lee dressing gown I picked up last spring with the Platinum Jubilee in mind:

The tiara is the main accessory, but I also added my favorite pearls (of course!), crown earrings from Erstwilder, a pair of glittery Duchess bangles from Splendette, and the Royal Collection replica brooch I always pull out for events featuring the British monarchy:

My daughters also think that this would be the perfect Disney Bound of Queen Elsa, and they’re not wrong!

I also added my most sparkly shoes, for a regal look from head to toe!

I love that if I try hard enough (and am creative enough), I can pull together an outfit for any occasion from what I already have in my closet!

Sartorial Saturday–A Star Wars Bound

Star Wars Day is almost here, and I have the perfect Disney Bound for it…an entire look dedicated to my favorite (Disney) princess, Princess Leia!

I fell in love with the Miss Candyfloss Honesta-May dress the first time I saw it in the lookbook. The eyelet embroidery is gorgeous, and I love the idea of a white cotton dress for summer (even though I am afraid I’ll spill on it!). And then I started thinking about different ways I could wear it, and it occurred to me that it would make a great foundation for a Princess Leia-inspired look:

I have a few very special accessories to complete the outfit…my Loungefly Princess Leia bag, my Rocklove Jewelry Kyber Crystal necklace, and my lightsaber from our trip to Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios last summer:

I added some silver hoop earrings and glittery Splendette Duchess bangles, plus a few sparkly hair clips:

I added a silver belt to the dress, too:

I think I captured the spirt of Princess Leia’s look in A New Hope‘s medal scene without wearing a costume!

I’m looking forward to sharing a few other looks (including another whimsical one!) featuring this dress soon!

Sartorial Saturday–My First Disney Bound

Are you familiar with “Disney Bounding,” a way to dress up like your favorite Disney characters without wearing an actual costume? There’s even a Disney Bound challenge coming up in March, starting with Bounding as your favorite Disney character on the first. I’ve never attempted a Disney Bound before, but I realized my purple vacation blouse from Vixen by Micheline Pitt is perfect for Daisy Duck’s style, and an idea was born!

I paired the top with a skirt I picked up on clearance at Old Navy for only $5 (worn over a pair of bike shorts I already owned, because the skirt is pretty sheer), and pink Crocs sandals.

I accessorized with a mini backpack from the Loungefly Princess Sequin line. The bag represents Rapunzel, but it also happens to be in Daisy’s colors of pink and purple, and even has a bow!

Further accessories include Minnie ears that feature a pink bow Ă  la Daisy Duck and a blue glitter Splendette duchess bangle just like Daisy wears!

I think I captured the essence of my favorite Disney Duck pretty well!

What a fun way to combine fashion and Disney!

Who is your favorite Disney character?
