Sartorial Saturday–French Market

I can’t remember the last time I was as excited about a print as I am about the French Market Bella skirt designed by Hope Morrison for Pinup Girl Clothing! It has carrots, garlic, and fish on it!

Actually, this is about more than just the skirt, because I really wanted to recreate the whole look that Pinup Girl Clothing featured. So while I had a typical stack of Splendette duchess bangles and an Erstilder brooch, the necklace is also from PUG…it’s absolutely gorgeous!

I also paired it with a navy hat and belt from Pinup Girl:

I love a hat!

Here’s a few bonus pictures taken outside of the Soulard Market in St. Louis…it’s (possibly) the oldest market west of the Mississippi River, and located in a historically French neighborhood…it’s the perfect setting for the skirt, don’t you think?

My one disappointment with this outfit is that I couldn’t get the Chérie ribbon peasant top to work for me. I ordered it at the same time as the skirt, and while it was my usual PUG size, I couldn’t even get it on, and by the time my order arrived, it had sold out in the next size up, so I couldn’t try a replacement. My original vision for the look might not have come together, but I do think this Unique Vintage Frenchie top is a good stand-in, and I still love the overall look!

Sartorial Saturday–Gingham and Flowers

I love sundress season! The Golightly is my favorite style sundress from Unique Vintage (it’s the twirliest dress I own!)…I have it in three different colors, including this beautiful blue gingham accented with pink flowers. The color combination is gorgeous, don’t you think?!? I especially love it with this pink Yemak cropped cardigan:

I accessorized with a pink fascinator, a Splendette stack of duchess bangles (including some of this season’s new duotones), an emu brooch from Erstwilder, and some lace gloves from Unique Vintage (which unfortunately got a hole the first time I wore them):

I think this is a great look for spring and summer!

I love this time of year, when you can throw a cardigan on over a sundress and have a complete look without any effort!

Sartorial Saturday–Duotone, Part Two

Last year, I was really excited when Splendette came out with a collection of duotone bangles in duchess sizes. The color combinations were amazing, and I couldn’t wait to wear them. I didn’t think it would be possible to like another collection even more, but this year’s duotone range is even more gorgeous, and I’ve already found several different ways to wear the pieces I purchased!

I already have another pairing in mind for some of these bangles, and I can’t wait to try it out!

Sartorial Saturday–Duotone

When Splendette previewed their summer Duotone range, I was ecstatic…the colors and carvings are amazing! Like everything else this year, it was delayed due to COVID-19, but since they arrived during summer (and since I don’t have many places to go), I guess that doesn’t matter too much. My very favorite pieces from this line are the bright pink and mint Flamingo and Parrot colors…I purchased all of the Duchess Bangles, both necklaces, and one pair of earrings. They’re so mid-century marvelous!

I did discover that I don’t have a whole lot in my wardrobe that goes with them, so I’ll have to work on that, but I do have a few things I can pair them with. And did I mention the new mint and iris pink leopard bangles are a perfect match for the Duotone?!?

There are several other color pairings in the Duotone range, but the only other I ones I bought (for now) are the clematis and violet, a beautiful pair in shades of purple.

I’m already looking forward to seeing what Splendette has in store for fall!
