Sartorial Saturday…On a Sunday–Easter Dressing

Since today is Easter, I’m sharing my Sartorial Saturday post a day late, so I can focus on Easter fashion!

I’m not going to lie…I really struggled to decide what I wanted to wear this year. But a Pinup Girl Clothing sale that allowed me to buy a Sabrina top in the perfect shade of mint to go with my castles Jenny skirt was the solution to my sartorial ennui.

Once I figured out the outfit, the accessories were pretty easy, although I did struggle a bit with my Splendette stack. In the end, I think pastel glitter was the perfect choice for Easter!

Did I mention that spring hasn’t really arrived here yet? The three-quarter sleeves definitely helped ward off the chill!

Happy Easter!

Sartorial Saturday–St. Patrick’s Day Style

St. Patrick’s Day is only a week away! It’s one of my favorite holidays, and it just happens to fall during Mary Blair March. I have one Pinup Girl Clothing skirt that combines the color green with the artwork of Mary Blair…the boat print Jenny!

I decided to go with a bold, contrasting color on top, and I think it’s a really fun look. I also found as many green accessories as possible, including my favorite Splendette Duchess glitter bangles and a frog brooch from Erstwilder. And while the necklace may not have any green, it pretty much goes with everything!

What’s your favorite way to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day?

Sartorial Saturday–Inspired by the Olympics

I love a themed outfit. And I love the Olympics. So I’ve been thinking about what kind of Olympics-inspired outfit I could put together. At first, I had no ideas. It’s not like I have a skirt with the Olympic Rings on it! But then, I had a moment of inspiration. I have the gorgeous Skeleton Band print skirt from Pinup Girl Clothing. And skeleton is one of my favorite Olympic events to watch, probably because it completely terrifies me. Seriously. People are going 75+ mph on a sled inches off the ground HEADFIRST. On ICE. So my Olympic-themed outfit was born:

We’ll just call this Luxulite UFO brooch a “curling stones” brooch for now:

And “All that glitters is not gold (medals)” when you have Splendette Duchess glitter bangles to complete the look!

Maybe it’s a stretch, but I think this is a fun outfit, Olympics or not!

Sartorial Saturday–Splendette Christmas Stacks

As silly as it might sound, one of the most exciting things that happened for me this year was learning that Splendette was going to make Duchess Bangles that could actually fit over my hand without me having to break my thumb. I’ve had so much fun incorporating various stacks into my outfits all year long, but the most fun has been making different Christmas stacks with all the green, red, silver, and gold bangles I have. The glitter bangles have been an especially fun and sparkly addition to many of my outfits!

I’m hoping that Splendette will add more Duchess Bangles to their collection in 2018…I will never get tired of mixing and matching, but I will also not complain about having more colors or styles to work with!
