Garden Party Lights

Last week, we finally had time on a pleasant evening to visit Garden Party Lights at the Missouri Botanical Garden. This is a new event that re-used some of the elements from last year’s Flora Borealis, and added in some new things, as well, and we really enjoyed it!

I think my favorite part of the event was watching the different projections on Tower Grove House. It is the perfect backdrop, and the displays were so vibrant and beautiful!

I love the evening events at the Missouri Botanical Garden, because they allow me to see one of my favorite St. Louis locations in a, um, whole new light!

A Victorian Christmas at Tower Grove House

I love how seeing Tower Grove House at the Missouri Botanical Garden is decorated for Christmas every year. Some things are always the same, and yet there are elements of the design I somehow never noticed before…until I look back at my old pictures, and realize that I have previously photographed the very thing I thought was new! And there are always some things that are different. No matter how I look at it, though, even though it’s always vaguely familiar, it’s also always new and exciting to me!

Tower Grove House Through the Year

Last year, I shared photos of the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Climatron every month of the year. This year, I photographed Tower Grove House. I love seeing how it changed from month to month!

I’m still trying to decide what I might photograph monthly next year. I’m thinking either the Drum Bridge in the Japanese Garden, or maybe the Linnean House. I guess we’ll see next month!

Christmas at Tower Grove House

When we went to the Garden Glow at the Missouri Botanical Garden last month, we took the Christmas tour of Tower Grove House again. I was expecting it be pretty much the same as it was last year, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that quite a few of the decorations were different. I love how much attention went into decorating every room…even the bedrooms! It gives me something to aspire to for Christmas Future! I also love all the little details, especially the paper fans. Everything was so opulent and beautiful…more inspiration for the future!

Tower Grove House–October

I had to go with a slightly different angle of Tower Grove House this month…the afternoon sun was very uncooperative!

Tower Grove House-September

Even though we ended up visiting the Missouri Botanical Garden later in the month than I had planned, I can’t say that Tower Grove House looks too different from when we last saw it in August. No leaves changing color yet, and even the planter out in front looks the same. They are starting to hang decorations for the Garden Glow nearby, though, so you can tell a change is coming!

Tower Grove House–August

It’s kind of maybe starting to look like late summer at Tower Grove House…I hope! I’m really looking forward to seeing how it looks when the leaves change color!
