I’m still having fun playing with the Holo Taco “Super Magnet,” and comparing its effects to those of the traditional wand. This week, I used “Off the Grid” on the first two nails, setting the thumbnail with the wand and the index finger with the super magnet. I used “Feeling Sparks” on the other three nails, with the wand’s cat eye on the ring fingernail and the super magnet on either side. I still can’t get over how it actually looks like different colors of polish…the magnets are so cool!!!
This week’s mani features the new magnetic Holo Taco “Pretty Privilege” polish set with magnets in different ways. On the nails of the thumb and pinky, I used the traditional wand magnet for a cat eye effect, and on the nails of the index and ring fingers, I used the new super magnet to create velvet nails. I left the nail on the middle finger unmagnetized. I love how different they all look, to the point where it actually looks like different colors of polish!
This week’s mani is all about the latest magnetic release from Holo Taco! I used their new super magnet to achieve a “velvet nails” effect, starting with “Polar Opposites” topped with “Sweetheart Taco” on the thumbnail, followed by “Playing the Field,” “Flirt Alert,” “Pretty Privilege,” and “Lust in Translation.”
I don’t normally share multiple photos of the same mani, but I just love the way these polishes look in different lights and from different angles! It’s such a cool format, and I love that the super magnet allows me to get a completely different look from the magnetic wand!
To round out a third full year of “Mani Mondays,” I decided to do a mani featuring my two favorite Holo Taco polishes I’ve added to my collection in the last 12 months or so…the color-shifting “The Price is Alexandrite” from the birthstone collection and the magnetic “Off the Grid” from the camping collection. I used the “Shooting Star Taco” as a topper on two nails, too!
This week’s mani features autumnal shades in all magnetic polishes from Holo Taco…starting with the thumbnail, “Off the Grid,” followed by “Sacrificial Lacquer,” “Zyler Cat Eye,” “Menchie Cat Eye,” and “Fairy Tail.”
This week’s mani is inspired by the night sky, featuring Holo Taco’s magnetic “Twice in a Blue Moon” topped with “Shooting Star Taco.” I love how sparkly it is!
This week’s mani features two polishes from the new Holo Taco Camping Collection…the magnetic “Off the Grid” topped with the twinkling “Shooting Star Taco.” I have several magnetic nail polishes, but this one is definitely my favorite…the magnetic pull is a gorgeous ambery-mauve, which offers a great contrast against the dark blue base…it has major campfire vibes!
I have now shared a total of 52 “Mani Mondays”…a whole year’s worth! It has taken me more than one calendar year to complete this project, partly because I didn’t realize when I started that I was going to turn it into something this big and my nail painting was kind of sporadic, and partly because I just can’t always find time to do my nails every single week. I really love how it is a snapshot of a year in our family’s life…you can see the holidays we celebrated (Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter), the change of seasons (winter, summer, fall), special events we looked forward to (the Coronation, Combo Breaker), family heritage (flags), special family interests (Disney, Ahsoka), and even school spirit (college and high school colors).
First, here’s a look at my very favorite manicure I’ve done so far…I love the color blending and the added sparkle of the glitter!
And then all of the rest, in the order they were published. Sally Hansen Miracle Gel and Holo Taco were by far my two most-used brands, but there are some others mixed in there, too.
I’m by no means done with “Mani Mondays”…I’ve really enjoyed being creative in the colors I used and the techniques I’ve learned, and I already have some ideas for future designs I’m looking forward to attempting!
Holo Taco recently released a new trio of magnetic nail polishes, so they were the inspiration for this week’s manicure. I started with “Cool Cat Mom” on the thumb (an absolutely gorgeous color!!!), then “Menchie Cat Eye” and “Zyler Cat Eye” before I started repeating colors. The magnetic effect was really easy to achieve with the beautiful purple shade (now I just have to figure out how to really photograph it!), but isn’t as noticeable with the other two colors. Even without that, though, they’re lovely additions to my collection!
