Sartorial Saturday–The Galactic Forge

Today I’m taking a look at a new accessory that’s very close to my heart…the Star Wars Galactic Forge necklace from RockLove Jewelry.

I was intrigued when they first started sharing photos of this new range that debuted at San Diego Comic Con last month. The necklaces (and coordinating bracelets) are somehow both industrial and elegant. They evoke images of military dog tags, but there’s also a beauty to them. Each piece is inscribed with a quote from Star Wars in the universe language of Aurebesh…the one I chose is Han Solo’s defiant quote “Never Tell Me the Odds.” You also have the option of adding an enhancer which clips on, and I picked a diamond-shaped Mandalorian style with a green crystal and “Clan of Two” engraved on the front in Aurebesh, with the ClanMudhorn signet on the reverse. The two elements together make this a very personal and meaningful piece to me:

Even the clasp on the chain is stylized, and meant to be shown instead of hidden in back:

I really love this new collection, and those who were lucky enough to be at Comic Con had the option to purchase a special design and have their name engraved on it in Aurebesh, which I think is an amazingly cool idea…it really makes me wish I had been able to attend, because that is one of the coolest souvenirs ever! I have about a dozen RockLove necklaces, and they’re all gorgeous, but I think this one might be the most beautiful one yet!

Sartorial Saturday–Fashion for Star Wars Day

Tomorrow is Star Wars Day, and I have just the outfit for it!

When I saw that Her Universe had a beautiful yellow Padmé Floral Filigree Cardigan and Floral Retro Skirt set, inspired by what I think is the most beautiful outfit in all of Star Wars, I knew they would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe. The embroidered details add a touch of elegance to the look, and the retro style is perfect for me!

I accessorized with a bold yellow hair flower and a stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles. The embroidered Naboo crest means I didn’t even need a brooch for once!

It’s such a bright and cheerful look!

For this styling, I added a peasant top just a few shades lighter than the dimensional flowers on the cardigan and skirt:

I also wore a pair of ankle boots that are a little redder than I would have liked, but still go nicely with the floral details on the outfit:

May the Fourth be with you!

Sartorial Saturday–A Star Wars Bound

Star Wars Day is almost here, and I have the perfect Disney Bound for it…an entire look dedicated to my favorite (Disney) princess, Princess Leia!

I fell in love with the Miss Candyfloss Honesta-May dress the first time I saw it in the lookbook. The eyelet embroidery is gorgeous, and I love the idea of a white cotton dress for summer (even though I am afraid I’ll spill on it!). And then I started thinking about different ways I could wear it, and it occurred to me that it would make a great foundation for a Princess Leia-inspired look:

I have a few very special accessories to complete the outfit…my Loungefly Princess Leia bag, my Rocklove Jewelry Kyber Crystal necklace, and my lightsaber from our trip to Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios last summer:

I added some silver hoop earrings and glittery Splendette Duchess bangles, plus a few sparkly hair clips:

I added a silver belt to the dress, too:

I think I captured the spirt of Princess Leia’s look in A New Hope‘s medal scene without wearing a costume!

I’m looking forward to sharing a few other looks (including another whimsical one!) featuring this dress soon!

Kyber Crystals

Happy Star Wars Day Eve!

Yesterday I took a look at the Kyber Crystal necklace I bought as an early vacation souvenir. I’m not the only one who wanted one of these, though…the thing our family is most looking forward to about our trip to Disney this summer is visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where we’re hoping to build lightsabers and droids, go on the rides, and visit the shops, so Kyber Crystal necklaces are natural souvenirs for multiple members of our family! Chickadee picked Rey’s, Bunny went with Ahsoka Tano’s, Ladybug had to have Kylo Ren’s, and the Darksaber was the perfect choice for Turkey:

I think it’s pretty cool that most of us were able to find a necklace that fit us and that we love!

An Early Vacation Souvenir

I’m so excited about our family vacation this summer, I already bought a souvenir, and we don’t even leave until next month!

I knew I wanted to get a RockLove Jewelry Kyber Crystal necklace to commemorate our time at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, even without knowing for sure if they’re sold anywhere at Disney. When RockLove had their birthday sale last month, I decided to just go ahead and order it ahead of time, promising myself I wouldn’t wear it until our trip (although I am going to make an exception on Star Wars Day!). I chose Princess Leia’s Kyber Crystal, both because I think it’s the prettiest necklace in the collection, and because the words “optimism, stability, serenity” really resonated with me.

I’m really looking forward to wearing this unique piece, and I’m glad I already have something to remember our trip by!
