Sartorial Saturday–Where Spring Meets Autumn

I’m back with another look I created from pairing two pieces from two different Miss Candyfloss collections that I already had in my wardrobe. I picked one of my favorite spring dresses, the Amina-Regina, because it has so many lovely colors to work with, and topped it off with my Elke-Amber blazer, which is a perfect match for one of the shades found in the dress:

I accessorized with a trio of Splendette duchess bangles and an Erstwilder brooch:

I love the contrast between the plaid and floral collars…they’re so different, yet they work so well together!

It’s a great transitional look as we move from summer to (hopefully) autumn!

I love this puddle photo Ladybug took!

It’s so much fun to find unexpected pieces that match!

Here’s a closer look at how beautifully the blazer and dress go together:

I’m really looking forward to autumn and wearing more outfits like this!

I can’t wait to share some new looks from the latest Miss Candyfloss collection…stay tuned!

Sartorial Saturday–Mixing Patterns

Time for another styling of some pieces already in my wardrobe in anticipation of autumn! Today I’m mixing patterns with the plaid Elsa-Lee blazer and the checked Magdalia-Lee swing dress. I’m not usually one to combine patterns like this, but there’s something about this combination that I really like!

I accessorized with my Vixen by Micheline Pitt polka dot gloves, a stack of Splendette duchess bangles, an Erstwilder brooch, and my blue hat:

I think this works so well because the colors play nicely together, and the pattern on the skirt is fairly subtle, and doesn’t really compete with the jacket.

I wish I had thought of this combination sooner!

Do you like to mix patterns?

Sartorial Saturday–Summer Whites

I already shared whimsical stylings of the Honesta-May dress from Miss Candyfloss for Star Wars Day and for the Disney 100 celebration…now here’s a look at how I wear it for everyday!

Last spring, Miss Candyfloss had another white dress that I’ve regretted not buying ever since, partly because I really wanted to wear it with the beautiful Elsa-Lee blazer. I may have missed out on that dress, but the Honesta-May, with its lovely embroidery, goes perfectly with the jacket!

I accessorized with blue and silver, including a stack of Splendette Duchess bangles. I also added a lovely hydrangea brooch from Erstwilder.

I love the way the plaid contrasts with the white!

Here’s a look at the dress without the blazer:

This dress is so easy to style…I wasn’t sure I really needed a white dress in my wardrobe, but as it turns out, it’s a very versatile piece!

Sartorial Saturday–Fit for a Queen

We’re only a week away from the big Platinum Jubilee weekend! In honor of that auspicious event, I’m taking a look at an unbelievable piece that was inspired by another royal lady (Princess Grace), and makes me feel like a queen myself…the Sacnite-Lee dressing gown by Miss Candyfloss!

This is a one-of-a-kind piece that, while it shares the same general shape and style as my other Miss Candyfloss dressing gown, has been upgraded with the addition of sequins on the lace bodice (I love to sparkle!), and a fantastic ombre shading in the most lovely shades of blue:

How do you accessorize a dressing gown? Well I decided to play up the royal look with a Cinderella-inspired necklace, my Erstwilder crown earrings, and some sparkly hair pins:

Like my other dressing gown, I would definitely wear this out if I had a place fancy enough, but for now, it’s also perfect for watching Encanto on a Friday night! Or twirling around the house, because the skirt has an amazing spin!

I love how luxurious and special this gown is!

Now I have a dressing gown perfect for spring and summer, and another that’s just right for fall and winter…I’m glad to have all the seasons covered in elegant glamour!

Sartorial Saturday–Inspired by The Astronaut Wives Club

Today I’m taking a look at a Miss Candyfloss dress that feels like it could have appeared in an episode of The Astronaut Wives Club…the Selena-Sun!

My favorite things about this dress are the collar/neckline and the asymmetrical buttons down the front. It’s so unique and beautiful!

I’m usually reluctant to wear the color yellow, especially this much and so close to my face. But there’s something so cheerful and summery about it, I don’t even mind!

Since the dress is such a bright color, I keep my accessories simple, with a white and silver color palette featuring a Splendette stack and my favorite necklace. I even added some cute earrings, which I haven’t worn much since the pandemic began!

The dress is a little big on me. Miss Candyfloss recommended ordering a size up from your usual size, but I’m often between sizes, and I didn’t look at the size chart closely enough, so I should have just stuck with my regular Miss Candyfloss size. The dress will look even better once I have it taken in a bit and it’s more fitted, but I don’t think it looks terrible the way it is now.

It really is the perfect dress for a retro summer!

I’m looking forward to styling this in other ways in the future!

Sartorial Saturday–Taking the Helm

Time for a look at another piece from Miss Candyfloss’s latest lookbook, “A Touch of Grace!”

The Khloe-Lee sleeveless swing dress caught my eye on my first scroll through the collection. It’s similar to another Miss Candyfloss dress I purchased last summer, but with a more flattering (to me) bust/neckline.

This dress is light and breezy and perfect for summer. It’s a beautiful shade of blue, with a subtle ship’s wheel print that from a distance could easily be mistaken for polka dots. There are two hidden snaps at the top of the dress to ensure everything stays put, which I love!

I kept the accessories and their color palette simple…a trio of Splendette Duchess bangles and an elegant bird brooch from Erstwilder:

This dress buttons all the way down the front, which makes it easy to throw on, and even easier to wear open over shorts!

I’m especially looking forward to wearing this dress (with the shorts underneath) on our family vacation this summer…I’m expecting it to travel well and be super comfortable when we’re out and about in the summer sun!

Sartorial Saturday–The Day Dress

Miss Candyfloss has a new lookbook for spring/summer 2022, and I have my first new dress from it!

The Amina-Regina is a beautiful, floral print day dress. It’s light and easy to wear, and perfect for the coming warmer days!

The collection is called “A Touch of Grace,” and is named for the lovely Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco. I think this dress in particular lives up to the name, and it also reminds me of some of the dresses that Queen Elizabeth II wore at the beginning of her reign in the 1950s, so I feel especially regal wearing it!

I accessorized with a neutral hat and gloves, and added in a blue and white stack of Splendette Duchess bangles and a heart-shaped brooch from the Erstwilder Paris Holiday collection.

The dress also looks perfect with a cropped cardigan:

I love the elegant simplicity of this dress, and I’m looking forward to wearing it often!
