Sartorial Saturday–My Erstwilder Hydrangea Collection

Hydrangeas are my favorite flower, so you’d think I would have purchased every hydrangea piece Erstwilder has released over the years. You would be wrong, and I don’t really have an explanation for why. There are three brooches (blue, pink, and purple) that I’m missing, as well as the coordinating earrings in each of those three colors. I do have a few special brooches thanks to Ryan, however (a blue mini, a fan-favourite recolor in pale blue and purple, and a 10th birthday edition in white), a necklace (my first and only Erstwilder necklace so far, although I do have the brooch converter), and a beautiful blue hydrangea scarf.

I’m not going to lie…I do regret not purchasing all of the different pieces as they came out. I am really happy that the few brooches I do have are from special collections, though!

Sartorial Saturday…On a Sunday–Easter Fashion in the Time of COVID-19

Time to take a look at the Easter outfit that this year I actually get to wear outside of the house! I bought this Lana dress from Pinup Girl Clothing as a birthday present to myself last year, and as soon as I put it on, I knew it was going to be my Easter dress for this year…the beautiful floral print is perfect for it! Since it’s the midwest, and you never know what the weather is going to be like, I added a Yemak cropped cardigan in the most beautiful shade of purple to go with it.

Easter is an especially good holiday for accessorizing…this year, I’m wearing a sun hat I got from Unique Vintage, but I swapped out the pink tie around it for a beautiful blue floral scarf from Erstwilder. I chose a purple floral necklace and a Splendette duchess bangles stack to go with it, and of I course I added my favorite fancy floral brooch. I’m also really excited about my new Erstwilder handbag!

I’m sure I say this every year, but this may be my favorite Easter look yet…I love all of the floral components! Perfect for a lovely spring day after what seems like a year-plus of never-ending, dark winter!

Of course, I need a mask to go with my outfit, because COVID-19, and I have a coordinating mask that was made to go with my dress! I love how Pinup Girl thinks about the little details!

And one more picture of the outfit in the wild this morning…I changed my shoes (Chickadee asked me to wear sandals so she wasn’t the only one), and I picked a different mask, as well:

After last year’s Easter-at-Home, it’s so nice to be able to get dressed up and go to church. Happy Easter!

Sartorial Saturday–Christmas Town

Every year, I think to myself, “I don’t need any more Christmas print skirts.” And every year, I come across another amazing Christmas print skirt to add to my wardrobe. Only this year, it wasn’t just a skirt, it was a skirt with a matching cardigan! The lovely wintry print on the skirt may be called “Christmas Town,” but I can see myself wearing it all winter, especially since the background of the skirt is a fairly neutral navy. And the embroidery on the cardigan isn’t specifically Christmas-y, either, although the red color certainly makes you think Christmas!

I accessorized with a basset hound brooch from Erstwilder, which fits right in with the embroidery on the cardigan, a bow belt which makes me think of Christmas presents, and a green doctor’s bag-style handbag from Collectif, plus a fun Christmas lights scarf (that looks more pink in pictures than it does in person).

This outfit, including the green and white striped top, is from Unique Vintage, although it’s not their store brand. The label says Royal Monk, and I think that’s somehow related to Banned Retro, which is a brand that has had Christmas prints in the past that I’ve regretted not adding to my wardrobe.

I love this festive look!

Have you added any new festive fashion to your wardrobe?

Sartorial Saturday–Sausage Dogs Scarf

I’m not usually a neck scarf person. I’ve tried quite a few of them in the past, but I always feel overheated or strangled or something. But when I saw this adorable sausage dogs scarf, with its quirky print and bold colors, from Erstwilder’s new neck scarf collection, I knew it was something I wanted to add to my wardrobe!

The material is nice and lightweight, so even wearing it in the summer, it wasn’t too hot. And I didn’t feel strangled at all! I’d definitely think about buying another one of these from Erstwilder because all of the prints are so adorable, and it’s really fun to wear!
