Sartorial Saturday–A Colorful Suit Look Inspired by Mary Blair

Today I’m taking a look at an outfit with color styling inspired by the work of Mary Blair!

Every year, when Mary Blair March rolls around, I try to find new ways to combine pieces from my wardrobe based on the color combinations Mary Blair used in her book and movie illustrations. When I was going through my closet, I realized that the pink Terentia-Paz vest and Lucile-Paz trumpet skirt from Miss Candyfloss would make a bold and whimsical pairing with the orange Martane-Brandy blouse.

I accessorized with a boater hat from Vixen by Micheline Pitt, a RockLove Jewelry Alice in Wonderland spinner necklace based on Mary Blair’s illustrations from the animated Disney classic, a vintage brooch, and a stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles.

It’s so much fun to wear such bold colors together!

I love getting outfit inspiration from unexpected places!

Stay tuned for a few more Mary Blair March themed looks!

Sartorial Saturday–Dressed to InVEST

You’ve seen both the Cloe-Minty dress and the Terentia-Paz vest from Miss Candyfloss individually…now it’s time to take a look at how they go together!

If I hadn’t ordered these two pieces together, I’m not sure it would have occurred to me to pair them…I don’t think I’ve ever worn a vest over a dress before. But seeing them side-by-side right out of the package made me notice how well they looked together!

I accessorized with my original hat, gloves, a stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles, and a vintage brooch from the antique store:

Here’s a closer look at the brooch…it’s absolutely splendid!

I love the pop of color the vest brings to the dress, and also that it brings out the subtle mint green stripe that can be overlooked if you’re not paying attention!

Any excuse to add a Miss Candyfloss peplum to an outfit!

This was a really fun way to play around with pieces in my wardrobe!

Sartorial Saturday–Suits Me

You’ve seen the Miss Candyfloss Terentia-Paz vest, Arien-Minty bishop-sleeve blouse, and Lucile-Paz trumpet skirt separately…now I’m putting all three pieces together for a great suit look!

I added a pair of ankle boots from Lane Bryant in a slightly darker shade than the suit separates:

I love a Miss Candyfloss peplum!

I accessorized with a fascinator that’s perfect with the blouse, a vintage brooch, a RockLove Jewelry necklace, and a stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles:

I love a vest/skirt suit! I think it’s a lot more fun than a jacket/skirt combo, because you can get a better look at the blouse paired with it.

I was initially unsure of trying out a trumpet skirt, or a vest for that matter, because they’re pretty different from what I usually wear, but they’ve become some of my favorite pieces!

Sartorial Saturday–Pink & Green

Wicked for Good just came out, and since it’s all the rage right now, I decided to style an outfit in the iconic duo of pink and green that’s so famous in the franchise!

The Clarisse-Gia blouse, Terentia-Paz vest, and Lucile-Paz trumpet skirt are all from the most recent Miss Candyfloss collection, and were actually styled together on their website. Honestly, I wouldn’t have thought of pairing these pieces on my own, so I’m grateful for the recommendation!

I kept my accessories pink and green, too, including an Erstwilder gingko leaf brooch and stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles. I also added my Erstwilder The Wizard of Oz “The Good Witch’s Crown” earrings, which are perfect for the occasion!

I love the way my ankle boots, which are just a few shades darker than the suit separates, anchor the outfit!

It’s so much fun to come up with an outfit idea inspired by something from pop culture!

Sartorial Saturday–InVESTment

Last week I took a look at a gorgeous Miss Candyfloss trumpet skirt in a vibrant shade of pink; this week it’s time for a look at the matching vest!

The Terentia-Paz is a beautiful tailored piece that is pretty much identical in style to the vest I added to my wardrobe last year. It also pairs well with the same Brindy-Dora pants, not to mention the Tannia-Khalia bishop-sleeve blouse!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…Miss Candyfloss does peplums extremely well!

I accessorized with a hat with a statement bow, an Erstwilder brooch, and a stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles:

It’s a lovely, polished look!

I love how versatile Miss Candyfloss vests are…they go with so many different tops, skirts, and pants, and I even have plans to pair this one with a dress…stay tuned!

Sartorial Saturday–A Feminine Pants Suit

Yesterday Miss Candyfloss released the 2025 spring/summer lookbook! That’s always an exciting day for me…I go through the book multiple times, admiring the new styles and prints and inspirations and creating and honing a wish list. I don’t know when the first pieces will be available for purchase, or when my first purchase of the new season will be, but in the meantime, here’s a look at an outfit I styled last fall with pieces from that season’s collection!

This look features the Terentia-Bo vest and coordinating Menora-Bo wide leg pants with the lovely Arien-Minty bishop-sleeve blouse.

As always, I love a good peplum!

I accessorized with a stack of Splendette Duchess Bangles and the perfect Art Deco Erstwilder brooch:

I love how perfectly polished this look is!

I can’t wait to start sharing looks from the new collection!

Sartorial Saturday–InVESTed

Last week, I took a look at my newest wide-leg pants from Miss Candyfloss…today it’s all about the coordinating Terentia-Bo vest!

This is my first vest, and I really love the way it looks. It goes great with the matching pants (of course!), but I also really like it as a contrast to these pants, especially with an orange bishop-sleeve blouse to tie the look together:

I accessorized with a stack of glittery Splendette Duchess Bangles, an Erstwilder brooch, and a whimsical pair of turkey earrings by SUGARFIX by Baublebar I found at Target:

I absolutely love a Miss Candyfloss peplum!

This is such a smart look!

Stay tuned for a look at the full vest/pants suit!
