Sartorial Saturday…on a Friday–A Match Made in Accessories Heaven

It’s the day after Thanksgiving, which means it’s now socially acceptable to get my Christmas apparel and accessories out of my wardrobe! To kick things off, let’s take a look at a new accessory I added to my collection this year…a Daisy Duck “Deck the Halls” bag charm from Baublebar!

I love Daisy in her sparkly Christmas sweater all tangled up in colorful Christmas lights, and I love how well she goes with my equally sparkly red and green sequin Loungefly “‘Tis the Season” Christmas mini backpack I got last year. It’s a glittery match made in accessories heaven!

Sartorial Saturday–Revisiting the 90s

I don’t always wear retro clothes…sometimes I want to go more casual. And when I do, I often look like it’s still the 90s (so still retro, I guess, and now I feel old)! I have always loved super wide-leg jeans, and I’m really excited that they’re “in” again (this pair is from Lane Bryant, and they’re perfect)! I know, I know…they say if you wore a trend the first time around, you shouldn’t repeat it, but I am (obviously) not one to care about fashion rules!

Just because I go more casual from time to time doesn’t mean I don’t accessorize when I do. And what says 90s more than a bucket hat? I also added a stack of Homes Bracelets (that represent where I was in the 90s), and a RockLove Jewelry necklace from one of my favorite childhood Disney movies…The Little Mermaid.

I added a Disney tank and hoodie to complete the look…I love the color combination!

And my iridescent Docs:

I think I’ve captured the 90s in a pretty fresh way!

Maybe I’ll feature another casual look in the future!

Sartorial Saturday…On a Tuesday–Halloween Inspiration from a Dirndl

I thought it would be fun to build a Halloween look around a dirndl, so I decided to use my purple dirndl to create an Evil Queen costume!

I left off the apron since I don’t have a solid purple one to match the dress. I added a red ribbon lacing to echo the red belt on the Evil Queen’s dress. I also wore a black cape, which I secured with (what else) a mirror brooch from Erstwilder. And the Evil Queen wouldn’t be complete without a poison apple…luckily, we just happen to have a Lego poison apple in the school room!

I thought this was a really fun way to style a dirndl! Next year, maybe I’ll use this dirndl to dress as Jack, the Czar of Halloween!

Sartorial Saturday–A Disney 100 Daisy Duck Disney Bound

I’ve already shared one whimsical styling of the Miss Candyfloss Honesta-May dress…now it’s time for another! Today I’m taking a look at a Disney Bound inspired by Daisy Duck’s “Disney 100” outfit, and I’m including the Disney 100 ears I bought for our trip to Disneyland!

Her outfit is purple and silver…I went with purple and white (with a hint of silver here and there):

Here’s a closer look at the ears…I view them as a companion piece to the Disney World 50th anniversary ears I purchased last year:

I added some glittery Splendette Duchess bangles in Daisy’s Disney 100 colors:

I think the purple petticoat is the perfect, sassy addition!

Do you think Daisy would approve?

This was a fun look to put together…stay tuned for a more standard styling of this dress for everyday!

Sartorial Saturday–A Star Wars Bound

Star Wars Day is almost here, and I have the perfect Disney Bound for it…an entire look dedicated to my favorite (Disney) princess, Princess Leia!

I fell in love with the Miss Candyfloss Honesta-May dress the first time I saw it in the lookbook. The eyelet embroidery is gorgeous, and I love the idea of a white cotton dress for summer (even though I am afraid I’ll spill on it!). And then I started thinking about different ways I could wear it, and it occurred to me that it would make a great foundation for a Princess Leia-inspired look:

I have a few very special accessories to complete the outfit…my Loungefly Princess Leia bag, my Rocklove Jewelry Kyber Crystal necklace, and my lightsaber from our trip to Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios last summer:

I added some silver hoop earrings and glittery Splendette Duchess bangles, plus a few sparkly hair clips:

I added a silver belt to the dress, too:

I think I captured the spirt of Princess Leia’s look in A New Hope‘s medal scene without wearing a costume!

I’m looking forward to sharing a few other looks (including another whimsical one!) featuring this dress soon!

Sartorial Saturday–My First Disney Bound

Are you familiar with “Disney Bounding,” a way to dress up like your favorite Disney characters without wearing an actual costume? There’s even a Disney Bound challenge coming up in March, starting with Bounding as your favorite Disney character on the first. I’ve never attempted a Disney Bound before, but I realized my purple vacation blouse from Vixen by Micheline Pitt is perfect for Daisy Duck’s style, and an idea was born!

I paired the top with a skirt I picked up on clearance at Old Navy for only $5 (worn over a pair of bike shorts I already owned, because the skirt is pretty sheer), and pink Crocs sandals.

I accessorized with a mini backpack from the Loungefly Princess Sequin line. The bag represents Rapunzel, but it also happens to be in Daisy’s colors of pink and purple, and even has a bow!

Further accessories include Minnie ears that feature a pink bow Ă  la Daisy Duck and a blue glitter Splendette duchess bangle just like Daisy wears!

I think I captured the essence of my favorite Disney Duck pretty well!

What a fun way to combine fashion and Disney!

Who is your favorite Disney character?
